Job summary

GAP Group invites aspiring plant technicians to join our apprenticeship programme in York. You will be enrolled in a blended learning path to achieve an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, combining hands‑on depot work with block release training at a college.

Apprentices under 18 start at £16,224 per year for up to 39 hours per week, while those over 18 start at £17,860 per year for up to 42.5 hours per week. Yearly increases occur after Year 1 as you progress.

Qualifications

• 4 GCSE grade C or above.
• Keen interest in Plant Technology.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance through on‑the‑job experience and classroom learning.
• Learn to service and repair machines and equipment, including replacing parts.
• Study basic engineering skills and electro‑hydraulics and computerised control systems.
