Countrystyle Recycling Ltd is seeking a Plant Fitter to maintain and repair plant equipment at Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne. The role requires attention to safety and a proactive approach to servicing and repairs.

Candidates should have an NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Maintenance or an engineering background, with good communication and time management skills. The position includes a substantial 47.5-hour week with overtime options.

Formación

• Good communication, time management and problem solving are essential soft skills.
• NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent engineering background is required.
• Experience in maintenance of plant equipment is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out inspections, diagnose faults and perform repairs on Plant Equipment and related components.
• Test, dismantle, overhaull, repair and re-assemble equipment as required.
• Support preventative maintenance checks, services and general maintenance/repairs of Plant Equipment.
• Assist and coordinate in planned maintenance shutdowns and emergency call-out repairs as needed.
• Ensure work complies with safety policies and uses PPE correctly.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately to Countrystyle policies.

Job Title: Plant Fitter

Location: Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME9 8SR

Salary: £18 - £21 per hour, DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

Working Hours: 47.5 hours Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays, (as per the site's roster with option of overtime daily)

Countrystyle Recycling are proud to operate the largest independent fleet of modern waste management vehicles in Kent, London and the South East. Our fleet vehicles include dustcarts, skip trucks, hook loaders and bulk haulage lorries.

About the role:

To achieve, and persistently maintain, high standards of workmanship and competence in performing tasks associated with preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance whilst maintaining high standards of internal and external communications and relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections, diagnosing any faults and defects on Plant Equipment, related equipment and components. This includes testing, dismantling, overhauling, repairing, and re-assembling as required.
• Participates in supporting operatives and employees in preventative maintenance checks, services and general maintenance/repairs of Plant Equipment, related equipment and components.
• Perform emergency call out repairs as required.
• Participate and support in planned maintenance shutdowns.
• Ensure that all work done by the team is carried in line with the safe systems of work and that appropriate PPE and safety equipment is used at all times.
• Accurately complete the necessary paperwork in a timely manner as required to comply with the Countrystyle policies and procedures.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Dealing with and reporting any major defects, concerns or problems with the equipment and prioritising this accordingly.
• Carry out random checks and audits on Plant Machinery under remit.
