Job summary

Detail 2 Limited in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to service, maintain and repair a diverse fleet of heavy plant and specialist lifting equipment at the depot. You will work in the yard with a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, and no weekend work as standard.

The role offers comprehensive product training and opportunities to develop mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills while supporting hire and sale operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar heavy equipment maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery and specialist lifting equipment across the hire and sales fleet
• Carry out pre-hire preparations and off-hire inspections
• Identify, diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic faults
• Inspect equipment for damage, defects and wear, reporting any issues identified
• Prepare used machinery and equipment for resale
• Complete job cards, service reports and maintenance records accurately
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain high standards of equipment reliability, safety and presentation

Plant Fitter - Heavy Plant - Stratford-upon-Avon - up to £45,000 DOE + Overtime at Time and a Half.

Plant Fitter - The Role

We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our client's team at their Stratford-upon-Avon depot. Working within the yard, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy plant and specialist lifting equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable and ready for hire or sale.

The equipment includes crawler cranes, mini cranes, telescopic crawler cranes, mobile cranes, piling equipment, vibratory hammers, soil mixing equipment, trench shoring systems and specialist drilling tools and attachments.

Plant Fitter - The details

• Up to £45,000 basic annual salary DOE
• Overtime available, paid at time and a half
• Permanent, full-time employment with an established specialist business.
• 39-hour working week, Monday to Friday
• No weekend work as standard

Plant Fitter - Requirements

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Yard Engineer or in a similar heavy equipment maintenance role
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience diagnosing faults
• Good hydraulic fault-finding and repair skills
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and use initiative
• A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach to work
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience with cranes, piling machinery or specialist lifting equipment would be advantageous, although full product training will be provided
