Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a hands-on Planning Manager to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, challenge progress and provide reliable forecasts. You will lead a planning function, coordinate inputs across teams and mentor junior planners, with a focus on robust schedule logic and risk identification.

Nuclear experience is not essential; MEP exposure is desirable. Bristol-area location with 9-day fortnight/5-day week pattern; strong planning fundamentals and ability to learn new systems

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in planning and scheduling within construction, engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience using recognised planning software.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, including accepted programmes, early warnings and compensation events.
• Experience leading planning discussions with delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor other planners and coordinate workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning for projects, developing, maintaining and updating detailed schedules.
• Coordinate planners' workloads, priorities and outputs, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Set and maintain planning standards, review schedule quality and dependencies.
• Lead progress reviews with delivery teams and subcontractors, validate progress and forecasts.
• Own programme forecasts, look-ahead and performance reporting for leadership.
• Coordinate resource planning and 4D planning; integrate schedules with the wider programme.
• Prepare programme submissions for NEC acceptance and manage change control.
