MP&L Manager

Location: Worcester

Salary: Circa £50,000 to £55,000

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a manufacturing organisation, to fill the MP & L Manager role. This role sits at the centre of logistics, materials planning, and distribution. You will ensure products move through the supply chain, arrive on time, meet quality standards, and support operational performance. The role includes people management and budget responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Development
  • Contribute to logistics strategy, policies, and processes to improve operational performance.
General and Task Management
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics activity across internal teams, suppliers, logistics providers, and customers.
  • Manage production scheduling.
  • Implement best practice logistics processes to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Deliver solutions to logistics issues while maintaining quality and service levels within budget.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and logistics partners.
  • Recommend optimal transport modes and routes.
  • Select carriers and evaluate performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies for product transit and delivery.
  • Resolve transportation, import, export, and logistics system issues.
