Job summary

Careys is seeking a Planning Engineer to join our Bedford-based Planning team. You will develop programmes for major civil engineering projects and work with construction, pre-construction and commercial teams to deliver on time and safely.

The role suits an experienced Planning Engineer or a Site/Senior Engineer looking to move into planning, with a focus on NEC contracts, sequencing and delivery optimisation.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience as a Site, Section or Senior Engineer moving into planning.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts and construction sequencing.
• Experience using Asta Powerproject or similar planning software (or willingness to learn).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Organised and analytical with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop tender and contract programmes.
• Produce construction methodologies and sequencing plans.
• Monitor progress and update live programmes.
• Manage programme change and identify risks.
• Produce look-ahead programmes and progress reports.
• Work with project teams, designers and commercial teams to optimise delivery.
• Support planning across pre-construction and live projects.
