Job summary

Careys is seeking a Planning Engineer to join our expanding Planning team in Bedford. You will work with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams to develop programmes for major civil engineering projects and help deliver them on time and safely.

We welcome experienced Planning Engineers as well as Site/Section/Senior Engineers looking to move into planning, with a focus on sequencing, logistics and programme delivery across both pre-construction and live projects.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts and construction sequencing.
• Willingness to learn Asta Powerproject or similar planning software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Organised and analytical approach with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Developing tender and contract programmes.
• Producing construction methodologies and sequencing plans.
• Monitoring progress and updating live programmes.
• Managing programme change and identifying risks.
• Producing look-ahead programmes and progress reports.
• Working with project teams, designers and commercial teams to optimise delivery.
• Supporting planning across both pre-construction and live projects.
