Job summary

Careys is seeking a Planning Engineer to join our growing Planning team, working with operational, commercial and pre-construction colleagues to develop construction programmes for major infra projects in the UK. This role suits an experienced planner or a Site/Section/Senior Engineer looking to move into planning.

You will support tender stage through to completion, develop and maintain programmes, monitor progress and manage changes while collaborating with project teams to optimise delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience as Site/Section/Senior Engineer moving into planning.
• Understanding NEC contracts and construction sequencing.
• Experience with planning software (Asta Powerproject) or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Organised and detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop tender and contract programmes.
• Produce construction methodologies and sequencing plans.
• Monitor progress and updating live programmes.
• Manage programme change and identifying risks.
• Producing look-ahead programmes and progress reports.
• Work with project teams, designers and commercial teams to optimise delivery.
• Support planning across both pre-construction and live projects.
