Job summary

Park Avenue Recruitment is assisting a Gloucestershire Local Authority to recruit an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer for maternity cover. The role involves managing a caseload of enforcement investigations and preparing expediency reports for recommendations.

You will draft and progress enforcement notices, liaise with residents and stakeholders, and investigate breaches while working with minimal supervision. Six-month contract; ASAP start; rate flexible based on experience.

Qualifications

• Recent Local Authority Planning Enforcement experience is essential.
• Ability to pick up a caseload and operate with minimal supervision.
• This is not a senior or management position.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of planning enforcement investigations.
• Prepare expediency reports and recommendations.
• Draft and progress enforcement notices where appropriate.
• Liaise with residents, councillors, applicants and other stakeholders.
• Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and assess appropriate action.
• Work independently whilst supporting the wider Planning Service.
