Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Planning Enforcement Officer for a Local Authority client in the South East Coastal Region on an initial 3‑month contract. The role involves investigating breaches, site visits, gathering evidence, and progressing enforcement cases to resolution.

You will work independently, manage your workload, and provide professional planning enforcement advice within a Local Authority setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a Local Authority planning enforcement team.
• Experience investigating alleged breaches of planning control.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and progress enforcement matters effectively.
• Strong communication skills with applicants, agents, members of the public and internal stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Investigate breaches of planning control and collect evidence.
• Undertake site visits as required by cases.
• Liaise with applicants, agents and members of the public; maintain clear records.
• Progress enforcement cases through to resolution within the Local Authority framework.
