Job summary

M Group in Wales is seeking a New Connections Coordinator to join our planning team, delivering all activities related to New Connections with a focus on efficient, customer‑facing service in a busy water infrastructure operation.

You will coordinate resources across geography and skill sets, communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders, and help the team achieve performance targets while growing your career within a supportive, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSE or A-Level qualifications or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 1–3 relevant to role.
  • Experience with technology and software.
  • Advanced IT skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the customer from receipt of the job and maintain communication.
  • Review client job promotion to ensure high standards.
  • Create and review plans to match resources to geography and skillset.
  • Maximise productivity and planned value targets.
  • Ensure planning tasks are thoroughly managed to avoid downtime.
  • Monitor resource levels in real time to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate professionally with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute as a team player to planning and operations.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and admin support to meet targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning performance and customer service.

This role will be within our clean water team. Safeguarding the quality, reliability, and performance of drinking water across our region. We work across complex network systems, enhancing, maintaining, installing, and repairing infrastructure from pipes to water meters, to ensure consistently high-water quality. Through proactive network management and resilient engineering, we help ensure communities have safe, dependable water supplies every day.

What will you be doing?

As a New Connections Coordinator, you will be part of our planning department who are responsible for delivering all activities associated New Connections. Your role will be area specific however areas within the team can change to ensure we provide a sustainable, efficient service.

Below is an outline of the of your main duties, relevant skills, experience, and training needed for the role:

  • Manage the customer from receipt of the job, ensure good communication is delivered throughout.
  • Review client job promotion to ensure we accept works to a high standard.
  • Create and review the plan to ensure we have matched resources to geography and skillset.
  • Maximise productivity and planned value targets.
  • Ensure planning tasks are thoroughly managed to avoid downtime/abort visit costs.
  • Monitor resource levels in real time to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate Professionally with Key Stakeholders.
  • Actively Contribute as a Team Player.
  • Work closely with operational supervisors and admin support to plan, direct and monitor the activities of the team to achieve all performance targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning performance and customer service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with operational staff (supervisors and operatives).
What you'll bring

  • GCSE or A-Level Qualifications, NVQ Level 1-3
  • Experience with technology and software
  • Experience of working in the water industry, that would be preferable but not essential
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Structured & able to prioritise their own workload
  • Team player who is willing to help others
  • Works well in a thriving environment
