Job Title: Planning and Logistics Coordinator

Reporting To: Logistics Manager

Location: Proseal UK

JBT is a leading global technology solutions provider to high-value segments of the food processing and air transportation industries. We have offices in more than 25 countries and are continuously looking for new employees that want to grow with us!

JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Planning and Logistics Coordinator to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester.

Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry. Established for 25 years, Proseal has become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery in the UK and is recognized internationally.

Shift Pattern/Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15-minute breaks. A total of 40 hours per week.

Your new role:

Your role as Planning and Logistics Coordinator will handle and oversee the movement of goods across our business's global reach to the point of consumption. This role facilitates communications with stakeholders across Proseal and other business units, reports on activity, and performs outreach to external parties, hauliers, and logistical partnerships. Our goals are to make our processes as efficient as possible and maintain good relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors.

The Opportunity ...

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all activities undertaken and supervised are carried out in accordance with all current Health and Safety guidance.
• Maintain and manage business unit production plans for Proseal’s portfolio of equipment, conducting daily/weekly reviews with various departments.
• Ensure communication flows between the planning team and supporting departments, reviewing jobs and feeding back into reports.
• Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another, arranging transportation and orchestrating deliveries to meet customer demand.
• Track, trace, and update the status of shipments.
• Manage activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure established deadlines are met.
• Continually review freight costs and transportation rates to keep costs down.

Aptitudes Required:

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• A hands-on approach to work, with a willingness to lead from the front.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving, team-building, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels.

Experience:

• Basic knowledge of ISO standards and logistics-related laws and regulations (Inco-terms, import, export).
• Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous success.
• Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
• Experience from similar previous roles or relatable jobs is preferable.
