As Planner/Buyer you will manage the procurement of goods, forecasting demand, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products to meet company goals and control costs within the EMEA region. This role requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on purchasing, analysing sales data and market trends to create product assortments, negotiate favourable terms with vendors, and maintain optimal inventory within a specific budget.

What you'll do here:

  • Schedule stock replenishment based on forecasts, vendor capacity, manufacturing specs, and selling seasons to maintain industry-standard fill rates and turns.
  • Monitor customer back-orders and initiate manufacturing as needed.
  • Collaborate with Forecast Manager for forecast reviews and additional manufacturing information.
  • Coordinate with finance business managers on profitability concerns.
  • Schedule work orders with the distribution centre for kit assembly from manufactured goods.
  • Monitor and manage excess stock levels to align with company goals.
  • Align with content team on new product specs and dates.
  • Plan and complete procurement of finished goods from global manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Ensure timely deliveries from vendors or internal shops.
  • Connect with suppliers to resolve issues such as costing, product specs, and stale dates.
  • Collaborate with the distribution centre to resolve receipt issues and invoice discrepancies.
  • Work with cost accounting to close orders once received in full.

Non-essential, desired skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of book manufacturing processes, paper specs, and NASTA requirements is a plus.
