Job summary

MarkMay is seeking a proactive Gas Install Planner / Scheduler to join the Potters Bar-based team in Hertfordshire. You will plan and coordinate gas install works across residential properties, acting as the link between tenants, operatives, and management to ensure efficient service delivery.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, IT literacy, and experience with repairs management systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in a planning/scheduling role within repairs, maintenance, social housing, or similar fast-paced environments.
• Strong organisation and time management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with repairs management systems (DRS, Orchard, Northgate or similar).
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle priorities.
• Team player with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently schedule and coordinate repairs and maintenance jobs for operatives and contractors.
• Liaise with tenants to arrange appointments and keep them informed.
• Monitor and manage operative diaries to maximise productivity.
• Raise, allocate, and close work orders using internal systems.
• Track and follow up on outstanding repairs to meet timeframes.
• Prioritise urgent works with the repairs management team to meet KPIs.
• Provide administrative support and maintain accurate records.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a proactive and organised Planner / Scheduler to join our busy gas Install team based in Potters Bar . In this key role, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating Gas Install works across a portfolio of residential properties. You'll act as a vital link between tenants, operatives, and management to ensure efficient service delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently schedule and coordinate repairs and maintenance jobs for operatives and contractors.
• Liaise with tenants to arrange suitable appointments and keep them informed throughout the process.
• Monitor and manage operative diaries to maximise productivity and reduce downtime.
• Raise, allocate, and close work orders using internal systems.
• Track and follow up on outstanding repairs, ensuring jobs are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Work closely with the repairs management team to prioritise urgent works and ensure compliance with KPIs and service level agreements.
• Provide administrative support and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a planning/scheduling role within repairs, maintenance, social housing, or a similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• IT literate, with experience using repairs management systems (e.g. DRS, Orchard, Northgate, or similar).
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and juggle competing priorities.
• A team player with a problem-solving attitude and customer-focused approach.
