Job summary

Wates Group in Derbyshire is seeking a proactive Planned Works Supervisor to manage a designated patch, delivering planned investment and refurbishment across our housing stock.

You will supervise multi-trade works, inspect sites, manage budgets and KPIs, ensure safety, and coordinate with residents and partners to minimise disruption.

This role requires SSSTS, strong trades background, and experience in social housing; a company vehicle or allowance is included.

Qualifications

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – Essential.
• Strong trade background with multi-trade knowledge.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant trade (desirable).
• Proven experience supervising planned works, capital investment, refurbishment or maintenance in social housing.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Taking full responsibility for a designated patch, delivering planned works safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Supervising planned investment programmes across housing stock (kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows/doors, external works, refurbishments).
• Managing operatives and subcontractors, ensuring productivity, quality and customer service.
• Carrying out site inspections and surveys to scope works and monitor progress.
• Conducting quality inspections and sign-offs in line with standards and client expectations.
• Monitoring health and safety compliance across all sites.
• Managing project performance, budgets, KPIs and programme delivery targets.
• Handling customer queries and escalations professionally, ensuring timely resolutions.
• Collaborating with residents, housing teams, planners, contractors, and internal stakeholders to minimise disruption.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery and performance.
