Mott MacDonald Bentley offers a 12-month placement across both design and construction teams in the Midlands region. This role provides exposure to live projects that impact communities, with travel across sites and close collaboration with design and site teams.

You will gain experience across planning, design, surveying and documentation while being mentored by industry professionals. The placement starts Summer 2027 and includes pathways to future roles within the company.

Formación

• You must be studying a full-time undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid driving licence and access to a car is essential.
• Willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the planning, design, construction, commissioning, handover and completion of projects.
• Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with preparation of design, drawings and documentation.
• Assist the Site Engineer with setting out structures and pipework using surveying equipment.
• Support quality assurance and complete ITRs in line with procedures.
• Support safety, health & environment on site and day-to-day site operations.
• Coordinate with designers, support teams and supply chains.
• Assist with producing as-built surveys and completion documentation.

About The Role

Our placements last for 12 months, working across both design and construction teams, to offer the broadest exposure to the industry, working on real-world projects that make a difference in communities. It’s a great chance to get involved with live projects while gaining experience relevant to your degree. This role is working within our non-water framework, so travel around the Midlands region is required.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the planning, design, construction, commissioning, handover and completion of projects
• Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with preparation of design, technical drawings and other documentation in line with company processes, procedures and contract requirements.
• Assist the Site Engineer with setting out line & level of structures and pipework in line with construction drawings using a variety of surveying equipment (GPS, total station, dumpy Level, pipe laser)
• Assist the Site Engineer with carrying out the required quality assurance and completing ITR's (Inspection and test records) in line with company procedures.
• Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with supervising safety, health & environment on site in line with company standards and procedures.
• Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with day-to-day running of the site including requisition of materials and plant and processing of delivery tickets
• Liaise with designers, support teams and supply chains
• Assist the Site Engineer with producing as-built surveys and records.
• Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with compiling completion documentation in line with the client completion process.
