Job summary

Brunel University London is seeking a proactive Placement and Internship Specialist to expand placements for students at Brunel. The role is based at the Uxbridge Campus with a hybrid working approach.

You will support undergraduate and postgraduate students through placement applications, work with academic teams and employers to build opportunities, and drive PWE systems and technology enhancement. Weekend work is occasionally required.

• Experience supporting students in achieving their career aspirations within a recruitment environment or higher education.
• Advanced IT skills and experience developing administrative systems to enable PWE development.
• Confident presenter with the ability to motivate students in a challenging job market.

The Professional Work Experience (PWE) Team is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Placement and Internship Specialist to develop placements for Brunel students to retain the department’s premier position as an award-winning service.

Department/College: Student Professional Development

Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade from: £45,990 to £59,043 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £66,114 per annum inclusive of London Weighting. (Prorata if Part-time)

Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: 12-Months Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

The Professional Work Experience (PWE) Team is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Placement and Internship Specialist to develop placements for Brunel students to retain the department’s premier position as an award-winning service.

The post-holder will support both undergraduate and postgraduate students through all aspects of their placement applications working creatively with academic departments and employers to develop students' employability and ensure an adequate supply of placement opportunities.

You should have experience supporting students in achieving their career aspirations within a recruitment environment or a related field in higher education. You will also have experience of being a confident presenter with the ability to motivate students to compete effectively in a challenging job market. You are expected to have advanced IT skills and experience of developing administrative systems to enable you to lead on the development of PWE systems and technology enhancement. You will also make an active contribution to the wider strategy of academic departments and the PWE, which operates as a one-stop-shop for students and employers. The Placement and Internship Specialist is expected to work in a variety of subject areas including Business, IT, Engineering, Arts, Humanities, Law and Social Science subjects. Occasional weekend work will be expected.
