Job summary

Brightsmith is recruiting a Chemical Process Technician to join its engineering team, supporting pilot-scale development of advanced recycling technologies and hands-on operation of process equipment.

You will work with pumps, valves, heat exchangers and mechanical systems, help install and commission pilot lines, collect data and troubleshoot faults while maintaining safe plant operations as the technology scales.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with industrial process equipment, mechanical systems or pilot plants.
Practical approach to maintenance, troubleshooting and fault-finding.
Experience in chemical processing, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, or similar industrial environments.
Confidence working independently and taking ownership of technical challenges.
Interest in new technologies, sustainability and advanced materials.

Responsibilities

Supporting the installation, build and commissioning of pilot-scale process equipment.
Working with pumps, valves, pipework, heat exchangers and mechanical systems.
Operating and maintaining pilot plant equipment during development trials.
Troubleshooting mechanical and process faults, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
Supporting engineering and chemistry teams with experimental trials, sampling and data collection.
Maintaining safe and reliable plant operations as the technology continues to scale.
