Job summary

Laing O'Rourke's Expanded Piling division seeks experienced Piling Foremen to lead teams on major infrastructure projects across the UK, including Port Talbot. As a directly employed member of our workforce, you’ll drive delivery while enjoying clear career growth opportunities.

You will lead safety, ensure compliance with instructions and permits, act as Crane Supervisor and Pile Protection Inspector, read drawings, and guide site operatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Piling Foreman.
  • Experience with LDR and CFA piling operations.
  • Strong understanding of piling techniques, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Committed to safety and quality on site.
  • Ability to lead site operatives as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the achievement of safety targets and promote zero-tolerance to unsafe practices.
  • Ensure works follow Work Instructions, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure all permits are in place prior to works, including Platform Permits.
  • Act as Crane Supervisor and Pile Protection Inspector.
  • Ensure quality of constructed works complies with specifications and raise NCRs as needed.
  • Understand pile designs to deliver on site.
  • Complete site paperwork weekly and maintain accurate records.

Expanded Piling, part of Laing O'Rourke, is looking for experienced Piling Foremen to join our teams on major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.

Key Duties
  • Lead the achievement of Laing O'Rourke safety targets and promote a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe working practices and occurrences.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with Work Instructions, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Lift Plans and Environmental Plans.
  • Ensure all permits are in place prior to work commencing, including Platform Permits and Permits to Dig.
  • Act as Crane Supervisor and Pile Protection Inspector.
  • Ensure the quality of constructed works complies with agreed specifications and raise NCRs where required.
  • Be aware of the technical requirements of pile designs and specifications to ensure successful delivery on site.
  • Ensure all site paperwork is completed correctly and submitted to the office on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide necessary data to maximise financial recovery.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as aPiling Foreman.
