Job summary

Van Elle, the UK’s leading geotechnical contractor, seeks Piling Operatives for sites across the UK. The role covers all aspects of piling operations, from prep to completion, with supervision guidance and strict safety compliance.

A CSCS card and CPCS Slingers/Signallers are required, plus health and safety training and a willingness to work flexible hours. Permanent role with training opportunities and benefits including pension and healthcare.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is required.
• CPCS Slingers/Signallers minimum.
• Relevant construction or civil engineering experience and health and safety training.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours (nights/weekends)

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team for all site activities, before, during and after piling.
• Liaise with supervisor and follow instructions professionally.
• Support project team and supervisor for efficient delivery.
• Review method statements and risk assessments.
• Adhere to safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Report near misses, accidents and safety concerns promptly.
• Complete site records and assist with inspections of plant and lifting equipment.
• Ensure plant adequacy for tasks and maintain equipment records.
• Treat all colleagues with respect and promote Van Elle values.
• Understand and follow company policies.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as required.

Looking to build your career in ground engineering? We’re looking for Piling Operatives of all experience levels to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work as part of team for all site activities, before, during and after piling activities.
• Liaise and take instructions from your supervisor in a professional manner
• Support project team and supervisor in efficient delivery of the project.
• Review and understand all method statements and risk assessments relating to the project.
• Be familiar with daily/piling tasks and project specific safety rules, policies and procedures ensuring adherence to them.
• Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health and Safety Policy.
• Ensure that near misses, accidents, incidents and other safety concerns are promptly reported at the appropriate level.
• Complete all site records requested by company or supervisor.
• Assist with inspections of all plant, lifting equipment and recording on the appropriate forms.
• Ensure plant is adequate for the task prior to being used.
• Be respectful to all people you interact with, treating everyone equally and embracing differences
• Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values
• Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
• Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.

Who We're Looking For

• An appropriate Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) card.
• Slinger/signaller (CPCS) required as minimum
• Proven relevant experience in construction or civil engineering, as well as appropriate health and safety training
• Take personal responsibility and accountability for your actions, constantly striving to improve and exceed expectations ensuring safety and quality are never compromised.
• Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours, nights and weekends.

Other Requirements

• Eligible to work and live in the UK.
• Flexibility to travel in the UK.
• A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
