Job summary

Markel in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster to support Professional Indemnity claims within the London Market operation. This hybrid role combines office days with home working, offering a clear path into a specialist claims career and structured development with experienced market professionals.

You'll manage lower-complexity PI claims from notification to resolution, liaise with brokers, and work alongside underwriting and actuarial colleagues, while benefiting from a generous benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance, claims, broking or operations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Comfortable engaging with brokers by phone and email.
• Willingness to learn within a process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of lower complexity Professional Indemnity claims from notification through to resolution.
• Review and process claim notifications, excess submissions and bordereaux.
• Handle delegated authority and cover holder claims activity.
• Manage workflows through London Market systems and internal platforms.
• Liaise with brokers to obtain information and provide updates.
• Build strong relationships with broker partners and stakeholders.
• Identify trends, maintain claims records, and support reporting.
• Escalate complex claims to London Market adjusters when needed.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial and claims teams.
