PI Claims Specialist - Hybrid (12-Month FTC)

Job summary

1st Central in Manchester is looking for three Personal Injury Handlers to join our Personal Injury team on a 12-month fixed term contract based at our Salford Quays office.

In this role you will triage and manage PI claims from initial contact through to case resolution, applying your investigative mindset, strong communication and negotiation skills to secure fair outcomes while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience handling personal injury claims including indemnity validation and liability resolution.
• Experience managing inbound and outbound calls.
• Knowledge of OIC/MOJ portals and claimant representatives.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Triages and processes PI claims from outset to stage 1 conclusion.
• Owns a portfolio of PI claims through receipt to conclusion with stakeholders.
• Manages inbound and outbound calls and keeps customers informed.
• Ensures files are reserved accurately per reserving philosophy.
• Assesses basic liability decisions and negotiates with parties as needed.
• Identifies potential fraud indicators and refers promptly.
• Flags high loss indicators for prompt action and escalation.
• Contributes to continuous improvement ideas via lead or tech lead.
• Maintains effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Delivers personal development through training and SOP understanding.
• Registers expressions of dissatisfaction per FCIM procedure.
• Meets KPIs, SLAs and contributes to department performance.
• Performs duties across Claims and Fraud pillar to support operations.
