Job summary

First Central in Haywards Heath is seeking a Personal Injury Handler for a 12-month fixed term contract. You will manage PI claims end-to-end, triage MoJ/OIC portals, and negotiate settlements while maintaining customer focus and safeguarding against potential fraud.

You will work in-office for the first 3 months and then adopt a hybrid pattern with 4 days at home and 1 day in the office, with flexibility to spend more time in the office if desired.

Qualifications

• Experience handling personal injury claims including indemnity validation and liability resolution.
• Experience of managing inbound and outbound calls.
• Knowledge of liability assessment and MoJ/OIC portal familiarity.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage and process MoJ/OIC portal claims from outset to stage 1.
• Own and manage a portfolio of Personal Injury claims via OIC/MoJ portals from receipt to conclusion.
• Manage inbound and outbound calls.
• Ensure accurate reserving and prompt filing in line with reserving philosophy.
• Negotiate with customers and third parties to reach fair settlements.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and refer as required.
• Develop relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Attend training sessions to maintain specialist knowledge.
