Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care within the service under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
  • To assist with basic administration duties.
  • Responsible for safe use of equipment relevant to service.
  • Ensure safe and effective use of equipment by service users, carers and family members, including fitting demonstration, and teaching of safe and appropriate use.
  • Ensure equipment is safe.
  • Keep complete, clear, accurate and timely records, utilising digital platforms as required.
  • Communicate effectively through a variety of methods including the use of interpersonal, written and verbal and non-verbal skills.
  • Report any incidents, accidents or complaints in a timely manner, taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Support the induction of new team members. Participate in training and support of less experienced support staff and students (including apprentices) in respect of tasks and responsibilities within scope of practice.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities to maintain knowledge and inform practice. Actively seek feedback.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to a level 3 qualification. Or equivalent level of knowledge and experience. Or willingness to obtain in 1 year
  • Maths and English Functional Skills Level 2

  • National Care Certificate

  • Experience in health and/ or social care settings such as employment, work experience or volunteering placements

  • Experience of clerical/administrative work and computer skills

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
