Job summary

The Grove Surgery in Thetford is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our busy multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis, 36 hours per week over 4 days.

The successful candidate will provide direct clinical care under GP supervision, perform examinations, order tests, and contribute to patient care planning, home visits, and referrals while upholding high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited PA programme.
• Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP.
• Current professional registration.
• Current and valid certification or re-certification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination.
• At least 1 year of experience in primary care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care for patients under the supervision of a GP.
• Interview patients, take histories, perform examinations, diagnose and explain medical problems.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team, including home visits as needed.
• Refer patients to physicians, specialists and other health professionals.
• Recommend and explain diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Request and interpret laboratory results.
• Conduct telephone consultations and document care.
• Maintain thorough documentation and complete required paperwork.
