Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Physician Associate Tutor to provide strategic leadership for Physician Associates, champion their development and wellbeing, and strengthen governance across the Trust.

You will lead PA education, career development programmes and student placements, collaborating with senior leaders, clinical teams and external partners to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• GMC full registration with recognised clinical/educational supervisor.
• SAS Doctor or Dentist or Consultant with minimum 5PA contract with the Trust.
• Postgraduate medical education, leadership or management qualification (PGCert, Diploma, Masters).

Responsibilities

• Provide governance support for PA needs and attend the PA Professional Practice Committee (4 monthly).
• Support and guide PAs across the Trust and advocate for their needs with Clinical Leads and senior management.
• Lead on PA professional and career development initiatives and student placements.
• Lead on outcomes of the Leng report to maximise benefits for patients and the Trust.
• Organise internal and external development programmes to support PAs' development needs.
• Lead on Student PA placements within the Trust.
• Advise and support PAs needing additional support in line with Deanery guidance.
• Supervise the Trust Lead PA(s) and adapt responsibilities as workforce needs evolve.
