Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming infant school this September. You’ll support in class each morning, deliver phonics sessions, and help children develop confidence and a love of learning.

Afternoons will involve covering whole classes across EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 using pre-planned materials. The contract runs until 31st August 2027 with a strong possibility of extension.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering phonics sessions, Read Write Inc. preferred.
• Previous whole-class teaching experience is advantageous.
• Ability to lead small groups and support in EYFS and KS1.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in class each morning.
• Deliver daily phonics sessions and targeted interventions.
• Cover whole classes in the afternoons across EYFS and KS1.
• Work with teachers to help children make strong progress.
• Support children with additional needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Contribute to a team-led approach to learning and behaviour.
