Job summary

Four Hills Education Trust - Millbrook Primary School is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Year 1 team on a maternity cover basis. You will support teaching and learning, focusing on phonics, and help pupils transition from Early Years to Key Stage 1.

This role is term-time only, 28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and offers a welcoming, supportive school community with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification required.
• GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above.
• Experience with primary-aged children desirable.
• Knowledge of Read Write Inc (RWI) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 1 class teacher with teaching and learning.
• Deliver phonics sessions and small group/individual interventions.
• Support Read Write Inc programme.
• Help develop reading, writing and mathematics foundations.
• Promote pupil wellbeing, independence and engagement.
• Observe progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
