Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Experience working as a phlebotomist in a hospital or GP setting.
  • Experience with sample processing is desirable.
  • Maths and English GCSEs at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Previous experience in a clinical environment or medical laboratory.
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience are desirable.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
Duties of this role include:
  • Providing effective and efficient Phlebotomy services across the hospital, following operational policies and procedures as a skilled member of the clinical team.
  • Supporting the team to deliver care that improves individual and community health.
  • Demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect, and dignity.
  • Developing own competence to deliver effective care and treatments by improving clinical and technical knowledge and skills.
  • Communicating appropriately with others involved in patient care.
  • Advocating for safeguarding patients and speaking up when concerns about care arise.
  • Showing commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
