Relief Phlebotomist

The Relief Phlebotomist role involves travelling to stores around the region, up to 60 minutes from the base store. Travel expenses are covered by Boots.

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence and access to a car are necessary due to support for other stores.
  • At least 12 months practical experience as a Phlebotomist.

Salary: £12.36 per hour, up to £13.53 in selected locations within London.

By joining our team, you will work on behalf of Our Future Health, a charity partnered with the NHS, aiming to become the UK’s largest health research programme. We are collecting data from millions of volunteers across the UK to improve disease prevention, detection, and treatment.

Your main duties will include:
  1. Welcoming participants, verifying details, explaining the phlebotomy process, and taking measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference.
  2. Managing clerical tasks like booking appointments and maintaining stock levels.
  3. Taking and managing venous blood samples.
  4. Supporting the healthcare counter by advising on healthcare products and services.
  5. Opportunity to complete an NVQ2 Healthcare training programme.
What you’ll need:
  • 12 months practical experience as a Phlebotomist.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and independently.
  • Empathetic and approachable demeanor.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • Passionate about healthcare and customer care.
  • Willing to complete Healthcare Training at NVQ2 or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work weekends.
