Job Description:

Pulse’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers for a full-time role in the Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire area.

This role involves providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services locally. Candidates must have at least 1 year of blood-drawing experience and proof of competency.

Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire
Hours: 2-3 days per week, varying shifts
Duration: Ongoing
Essential skills:

  • Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
  • Proof of competency
  • Driving license is beneficial due to mobile sites

Candidates should have HCA experience and be available to work 2-3 days weekly, including Sundays, with shifts from 7.30am to 6.30pm, and Sunday hours from 10.30am to 5pm.

The position is available immediately and until June 2024, with potential sites including Amersham and Wokingham. The role involves traveling between mobile sites every 4-5 weeks, so driving is advantageous.

The pay rate is up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform POCT cholesterol checks, including measurements and data entry.
  • Draw and label blood samples correctly.
  • Monitor participant welfare and escalate issues.
  • Provide signposting, advice, and guidance.
  • Prepare samples for courier collection at shift end.

Essential requirements:

  • At least 12 months of recent phlebotomy experience.
  • Willingness to register with our agency.
