Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered Pharmacy Technician to join the team for a 30-hour, 10-month temporary contract at Foss Park hospital, York. You will support medicines management, dispensary duties and ward-based optimisation to improve patient care.

The role welcomes newly qualified technicians and offers development opportunities; travel to locality sites may be required. UK Right to Work is essential; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/BTEC underpinning knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Pre-registration pharmacy technicians due to qualify/register within four months
• Accredited checking qualification or willingness to commence within 12 months
• NHSE England Medicines Optimisation Modules 1-7
• CPPE The community Pharmacy technician: advancing your role programme
• CPPE Mental Health

Responsibilities

• Provide technical aspects of medicines management and medicines optimisation
• Dispense medications from varied order forms ensuring accuracy
• Assist ward-based medicines optimisation under supervision
• Support Clinical Pharmacists and Senior Pharmacy Technicians
• Promote medicines optimisation across specialties under direction
