Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team part-time, supporting the lead pharmacist in Clinical Pharmacy within General Practice. You will help optimise medicines, perform reconciliation, and contribute to medication safety and quality improvement alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Role involves direct patient education, adherence support, and involvement in audit activities to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role or related field.
Current GPhC registration.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Conduct medication reviews and medicines reconciliation to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues.
Provide patient education and counselling on medication use, including inhaler technique, side effects and storage.
Support medication adherence initiatives and reminder systems.
Participate in medication review clinics and other patient-centred activities.
Support achievement of QOF and quality improvement schemes.
Provide training and support to prescription clerks/administration staff.
Process prescriptions efficiently and accurately.
Contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy services within the practice and PCN.
