We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to lead and support a small technical team in daily Medicines Management operations and at ward level. The post holder will be based at our new Northview inpatient unit and will support the Deputy Chief Pharmacy Technician in ensuring the effective delivery of quality pharmacy services.

This post offers the opportunity to contribute to high-standard patient care in mental health services, working in the hospital environment, and enhancing your skillset.

The post is full-time, with no evenings or weekends.

Main duties of the job

• Provide quality, effective pharmacy services to improve patient care, including technical and clinical services.
• Promote further development of the pharmacy technician's role within the Trust and undertake supervisory duties.

• Pay enhancements include 30% additional for evenings (8 pm onwards) and Saturdays, and 60% additional for Sundays and bank holidays.

Person Specification

Education and registration

• Registered with GPhC
• O Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy or equivalent
• O Level Professional Diploma in Dispensing Checking or equivalent
• Member of APTUK

Experience and knowledge

• Experience of supervising and training staff
• Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and listening
• Experience working in a pharmacy within Mental Health
• Experience contributing to/writing SOPs
• Knowledge of Clozapine and monitoring systems
