We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician within Clinical Trials.

To help us do this, we are looking for an enthusiastic and astute individual to join our busy team. Self-motivated and flexible, you will have excellent organisational and communication skills. You’ll have the ability to work effectively both independently and with the existing teams within the pharmacy department.

You must have a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science, have successfully completed the BTEC level 4 Accuracy Checking Technician's course or hold a recognised equivalent qualification and be registered with the GPhC. The post will be 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Assist with managing all aspects of the technical pharmacy clinical trials service and contribute to its future development in accordance with departmental strategic and business plans.

Work with the Senior Pharmacy Technician – Clinical Trials to provide the operational management of the pharmacy clinical trials service in accordance with departmental strategic, capacity and business plans.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining procedures to ensure the appropriate legislation and regulations relating to the use of Clinical Trial medication are followed.

Assist with coordinating staffing arrangements in clinical trials area and to liaise with the other Senior Pharmacy technicians to ensure appropriate skill mix and technical and support staff allocation throughout the department.

Promote team working within the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team.

The post-holder is responsible for assisting with the training and assessment of clinical trials staff in accordance with National, Regional and local requirements.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are maintained as defined under statutory legislation, COSHH, Controls Assurance and Professional Standards in their area of responsibility.
