Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for the Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood in Wolverhampton. This fixed-term contract runs until April 2027, supporting a large prison site with a dedicated pharmacy team and multiple dispensaries.

You will maintain accurate patient records, follow SOPs, and ensure timely medicines administration while promoting cost-effective prescribing within our medicines policy. Collaboration with MDT is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).
• Post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records to the agreed standard and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Ensure timely administration of medicines and cost‑effective prescribing as defined in the medicines policy.
• Communicate complex or sensitive information with empathy to patients.
• Share information on medicines, medicines optimisation, regimes and legislation with the MDT.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton. HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men. The Pharmacy Team consists of 10 Pharmacy Techs, 2 Pharmacy Assistants. There are 3 main houseblocks which have two dispensaries to work out of and three smaller units with one dispensary. This is a fixed term contract until April 2027. The site offers:
