Job summary

Practice Plus Group seeks a Pharmacy Technician for HMP Stafford, a category C prison in West Midlands. Based in the healthcare department, you may perform wing-based work. The role offers 37.5 hours per week over 4 days, 7.45am–5.30pm, with 1 weekend in 3 and bank holidays on rota.

The salary range is £29,264–£33,510 FTE, with induction, competency framework and extensive career development support. Vetting checks apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC).
• Continual Professional Development (CPD) is up to date.
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care and ensure medicines management is safe.
• Maintain patient medical records to the required standard.
• Follow standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in West Midlands.

HMP Stafford is a male prison with a capacity of 753, 45% of the population is over 50's.

Working as a Pharmacy Technician, you will be based within the healthcare department and potentially some wing based work.

Hours

• Monday - Sunday service
• 37.5 per week over 4 days
• 7.45am - 5.30pm
• 1 weekend 3 and to work bank holiday as they fall within the rota
• 6 week rolling rota

Salary

This position is full time contract, you'll receive an annual salary between £29,264 - £33,510 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
