Job Overview

Responsibilities

The main focus of the role at the outset will be to work within the pharmacy homecare team assisting with reviewing existing contracts and building new contracts and frameworks, updating script templates, managing KPI reports, managing switches to generic medicines and processing homecare prescriptions.

The role will also involve working with the pharmacy procurement team, assisting in the day‑to‑day purchasing of medications for the Trust, contacting suppliers, helping to coordinate medication shortages, running reports as requested and proactively helping with stock control issues.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a highly capable, enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician with extensive experience of hospital pharmacy to join our friendly Pharmacy Team. The post involves working in a patient‑focused department, supported by skilled colleagues.

The post would ideally suit those with a background in homecare and pharmacy procurement, with good communication skills and initiative and the ability to work accurately whilst meeting deadlines.

Relevant experience is desirable including experience of financial work, the ability to perform accurate data analysis and reporting and the ability to resolve financial queries and problems. A good knowledge of IT is desirable, preferably excel.

Location and Facilities

The Broomfield Hospital site has recently undergone a major upgrade within the Pharmacy. We have a state‑of‑the‑art Omnicell automated dispensing robot and a brand new built Omnicell CD cabinet.
