Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Pharmacy Technician lead to oversee the goods receipt area and ensure the accurate and safe assembly of medicines for dispensing. You will manage the pharmacy team and coordinate with nurses, patients, and portering staff to ensure timely orders are received and checked.

The role requires Scottish Vocational Qualification Level II and the ability to plan, prioritise, and work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. CPD commitment is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and prioritising workload under pressure.
• Ability to lead pharmacy staff and work as part of a team.
• Commitment to CPD / self motivation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assistant technical officers and assist the Chief Technician with planning and prioritising work within goods receipt area.
• Receive and check pharmaceutical products into the pharmacy department from wholesalers and other hospitals.
• Receive prescriptions and orders at pharmacy dispensary from nurses, patients or portering staff.
