Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Technical Officer to join the Inpatient Dispensary as a Reception Coordinator. You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff, delivering exceptional service and ensuring smooth dispensary operations across inpatient wards.

The role includes processing prescriptions, stock management, and supporting robot loading, with a 12-week probation and potential flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs C grade or above (Maths, English and Science).
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent GPhC training for pharmacy support staff, or working towards.
• IT certificates or qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service coordinating the arrival and collection of work through the Inpatient Dispensary reception area.
• Manage all administrative duties, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
• Receive and process prescriptions, including handling prescription charges and Controlled Drug order books.
• Handle telephone queries for the Inpatient Dispensary in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with stock management activities, including ordering, checking deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of all items.
• Contribute to the loading of stock into the dispensary robot, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
