A leading NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Pharmacy Stores team at York Hospital. This role involves managing the receipt and delivery of medicines, ensuring proper storage, and performing various housekeeping tasks. Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will undertake an NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Stores team in the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital. Applicants must have a flexible, can-do attitude and excellent manual handling skills.

This role involves working in a busy pharmacy store, receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and IV fluids to wards. Previous manual handling experience would be beneficial. An understanding of stock management, including checking, receiving, and storing medicines, is crucial. Ensuring medicines are stored appropriately and securely both in the pharmacy and on wards, participating in stock-taking, and the checking of medicines are key responsibilities, requiring attention to detail.
The post holder will also perform various housekeeping duties, such as dealing with queries, checking and filing documents, processing waste and excess medicines, and supporting the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy department.
Previous pharmacy experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services.
