Job summary

NHS Highland is recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant-Porter at Caithness General Hospital, Wick. This Band 2, full-time role (36 hours) offers a structured training programme to meet GPhC requirements and progression within the pharmacy team.

You will work with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, developing interpersonal and organisational skills, and be flexible to rota requirements including late openings and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 National 4 qualifications including English, Maths and a Science subject.
• Must complete the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support workers in Scotland.
• Able to participate in departmental rotas for late opening and public holidays.

Responsibilities

Pharmacy Assistant-Porter

Band 2 Full-time, Permanent 36 hours Salary scale £26,696 - £28,988

Due to promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to train and work as a Pharmacy Assistant as part of our Pharmacy team based at Caithness General Hospital in Wick.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our pharmacy team and you will have the opportunity to work closely with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.

You will be required to work through a structured training programme to meet the General Pharmaceutical Council minimum training requirements for the role.

You will need to be enthusiastic with strong interpersonal and organisational abilities, good communication skills and a strong team work ethic. You must also demonstrate in your application that you possess good written communication skills, and are hard working with good attention to detail. You will need to be flexible in your approach and committed to completing the training programme.

Applicants must have achieved, or at the time of interview be working towards, 3 National 4 qualifications (or SCQF equivalent) which must include English, Maths and a Science subject as a minimum.

You will need to be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support workers in Scotland and to comply with the code of conduct throughout your employment.
