Job summary

Practice Plus Group’s Health in Justice team at HMP Lewes is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmaceutical team. Based in Sussex, you will support with dispensing-related duties, stock management, labelling and preparing prescriptions, delivering a timely service across prison wings.

This part-time role offers 19 hours per week, 7.30 am to 5.30 pm on a rota including weekends and bank holidays. Candidates must have NVQ2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or be working towards it, with good IT

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or working towards it.
• English and Maths Level 2 or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and unsupervised following procedures.
• Compassionate approach and non-judgmental attitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
• Work as part of the Pharmaceutical team to deliver the service.
• Provide timely service to prison wings.
• Receive prescriptions and manage stick returns from wing areas.
• Collect orders from suppliers and arrange returns for collection.
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes a category B/C Prison located in Sussex. HMP Lewes is a male prison that has a capacity for 742 inmates and are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support with duties such as Labelling, stock taking, checking, collections etc.

Hours

This role is part time - 19 hours per week.

7.30 am - 5.30 pm with 30-minute break.

Ideally flexible to cover Monday-Sunday, including bank holidays - will be on a rota basis.

Salary

• Up to £29,723 per annum (Full time equivalent)
• Up to £15,059 per annum (part time)

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you’ll be doing

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.
