Job summary

Newcastle, NE17 – We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
• For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
• Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.
