Job summary

Newcastle-based Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice role within a busy community pharmacy team. You will support day-to-day running, help customers at the counter, and work towards a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training provided.

This 15‑month program offers hands-on learning, stock handling, prescription processing under supervision, and development of customer service skills in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C (4-9) in Maths and English preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and complete Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

Brief Description

Newcastle, NE17 - We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role
