Job summary

Skills4Pharmacy in Preston is recruiting a friendly Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. You will support day-to-day operations and assist customers while working toward a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training.

The role offers hands-on experience, stock handling, supervised prescription processing, and involvement in public health services over about 15 months. Training provided on-the-job.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English desired but not essential as training can be provided.
• Willingness to learn and undertake Maths/English tests if needed.

Brief Description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
