Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant for our East Yorkshire prison site. You will support the pharmaceutical team with dispensary duties, stock management and timely prescription processing, delivering high-quality service to prison wings.

The role includes bespoke induction, competency framework and ongoing development opportunities, with a full-time schedule and a competitive annual salary. Applicants must have UK work rights and will undergo security vetting.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service or equivalent required.
• English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
• Medicines handling experience desirable.
• Non-judgemental and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills and literacy.
• Ability to work in a busy environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised while following policy.

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
• Be an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
• Provide timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
• Receive prescriptions and returns from wing-based clinical areas.
• Collect orders from suppliers via Main Gate and coordinate returns.
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Millsike name, a category C Prison located in East Yorkshire. As a pharmacy assistant, you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.

Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.
