Job summary

Practice Plus Group is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The role runs Monday–Friday 8am–4pm with full-time hours and a salary up to £29,723 per year FTE, dependent on experience.

You will complete general dispensary duties, support the Pharmaceutical team, and provide timely service to prison wings. Training and development opportunities are offered within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or Assistant/equivalent or working towards
• Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield. A Category A men's prison in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Hours

Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £297,23 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
