Job summary

Practice Plus Group is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Oakwood, Featherstone. The role offers Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, 37.5 hours per week with an annual salary of £25,557.

You will support the pharmacy team and work across a prison setting to develop dispensing and stock management skills. Key duties include handling prescriptions, dispensing, stock control, and delivering a reliable pharmaceutical service to wings while following policies.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills is required.
• Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential.
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• Non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills and IT literacy.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
• Work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the service.
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas.
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return.
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Hours

Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm

37.5 per week

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £25,557 per annum

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
