The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an ambitious Pharmaceutical Sales Manager to lead a regional sales team across South Wales. You will build relationships with NHS trusts, private clinics, and pharmacy groups, set targets and pricing strategy, and report progress monthly.
The role requires a proven track record in pharmaceutical or medical sales, solid understanding of NHS procurement and ABPI compliance, and a confident, clear communicator with clinicians and procurement leads.
Ambitious Pharmaceutical Sales Manager wanted to drive real impact in Healthcare from Cardiff.
Healthcare providers across Wales are under constant pressure to improve patient outcomes while managing tighter budgets, and that makes the link between sales teams and clinical decision-makers more important than it's ever been. This growing SME, established in the pharmaceutical sector, needs a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager who understands how to build trust with NHS buyers and private healthcare providers alike. It's a role with real weight behind it, in a city that's become a genuine hub for UK healthcare innovation.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Lead and develop a regional sales team covering Cardiff and the wider South Wales healthcare network
Build and maintain relationships with NHS trusts, private clinics, and pharmacy groups across the region
Set sales targets and pricing strategy for the pharmaceutical product portfolio, then report on progress monthly
Identify new business opportunities within Healthcare, from hospital procurement teams to independent practices
Coach junior sales reps on product knowledge, compliance requirements, and negotiation technique
Work closely with marketing and medical affairs to make sure messaging stays accurate and compliant
Here are the skills you'll need:
A proven track record in pharmaceutical or medical sales, ideally with some people management under your belt
Solid understanding of NHS procurement processes and ABPI compliance standards
Strong commercial instincts. You'll need to read a market and act on it, not just follow a script
Confident communicator who can hold their own with clinicians, procurement leads, and junior staff in the same week
Comfortable with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
A degree in life sciences, business, or a related field is useful but not essential if the experience is there
Key perks and benefits:
Salary of £42,500 to £57,000, depending on experience
Hybrid working, so you're not stuck commuting into Cardiff five days a week
Private medical insurance and a solid pension contribution
Bonus scheme tied to team and individual performance
Generous annual leave with flexible working built in, not just offered as a line in a handbook
Why pursue a career in Healthcare?
Healthcare in the UK keeps growing, and pharmaceutical sales sits right at the centre of that. Cardiff has quietly built a strong cluster of healthcare employers, research bodies, and NHS infrastructure, which makes it a smart base for anyone serious about this field long-term. Do well in a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager role like this one and the next step, regional or national sales leadership, tends to come quickly.
